FAAC gate repair in Las Vegas typically runs $220 – $480 for common board and actuator fixes, with most jobs completed in a single visit after parts are confirmed. We’re an independent FAAC service provider, not a factory shop, so we diagnose what’s actually wrong before quoting anything. If you own a FAAC swing or slide gate and it’s grinding, stalling, refusing to open, or beeping without explanation, call (725) 777-5391 and tell us what the gate is doing – or not doing – and we’ll give you a real number before we touch a single bolt.
How FAAC Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
FAAC builds the operator that moves the gate – the motor and control board – and most of what we see in Las Vegas homes comes down to heat, dust, and plastic parts that take a beating in this climate. Here are the failures we see week in and week out.
- Capacitor failure on FAAC swing-arm operators (400 and 412 series) – the motor hums but the gate won’t move. This is one of the most misdiagnosed problems in the trade; a lot of companies replace the whole actuator when a $40 capacitor is the culprit. We test the cap first, replace it with the correct microfarad rating, and the gate usually runs like new. It saves you close to $500 when it works.
- Burnt motor windings on FAAC 750 and 760 slide operators – these are workhorse operators, but Las Vegas dust gets pulled into the motor housing and builds up on the windings, causing them to overheat and fail. We clean the housing, replace the motor if it’s gone, and show you where to keep the area clear so it doesn’t happen again in the same year.
- Limit switch drift on FAAC E024U and S800H boards – the gate opens too far, slams into the post, or stops short. The limit switch tells the board where the gate is in its travel; dust and vibration knock it out of calibration. We reset and, on older units, replace the magnetic limit assembly, then test the full open-close cycle five times with the auto-close timer exactly as you use it.
- Water intrusion in the enclosures of FAAC 770 and 400 series installed without proper gasketing – we get called for “the gate works sometimes” and open the cover to find corrosion across the terminal strip. Nevada monsoons aren’t a rumor, and a lot of installs in this city never had the gasket seated correctly. We clean the corrosion, re-seat or replace the gasket, and if the board is damaged we quote an OEM replacement before anything is ordered. You always know the number first.
- Aftermarket gear and pulley wear on older FAAC slide racks – the gate shudders and makes a grinding noise as it moves. This is almost always a worn drive gear from age, not a board problem. We replace the gear with a hardened aftermarket part that lasts as long as OEM on these older units and costs about 40% less. If the gate is under 10 years old and not too far gone, we recommend OEM.

Our FAAC Gate Repair Process
Every FAAC job we run in Las Vegas follows the same steps, because you should never be guessing what’s happening on your own property.
- 1
You call, we answer. A live person picks up 24/7. You describe what the gate is doing; we ask a few questions to know whether we’re likely looking at a board, a motor, or a mechanical issue so the right technician and parts come the first time.
- 2
Flat-rate trip and on-site diagnostic. We come out, open the enclosure, and run the operator through its full range. We test the capacitor, the board output, the limit switches, and the gear train. You see what we see.
- 3
Written price before any work starts. This includes the labor and the parts, OEM or aftermarket, in your hand. No work begins until you approve the number.
- 4
Parts decision and repair. For FAAC boards and safety components we prefer OEM. For time-tested wear parts like gears and capacitors we’ll show you a quality aftermarket option and let you choose. Every part we install is rated for the duty cycle of your specific model.
- 5
Cycle testing and safety verification. We run the gate through at least five full open-close cycles, test the photo sensors and safety edges (the strips that stop the gate if something’s in the way), and confirm auto-close timing holds.
- 6
The written Kingswell Guarantee. You get a warranty on the repair in writing, and it’s valid for 365 days. If that same repair fails inside the year, we come back and fix it at no charge. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise, and it’s stamped on every invoice.

AfterWhat FAAC Gate Repair Costs in Las Vegas
We’re direct about price because that’s what the Kingswell Guarantee demands. Every FAAC estimate is written before any work, never after a “surprise” that doubles the price at the door. These are real ranges for the Las Vegas market:
- FAAC capacitor replacement (single swing actuator): $220 – $280 parts and labor
- Limit switch calibration or replacement: $180 – $260
- FAAC 750/760 slide motor replacement: $620 – $840 parts and labor
- FAAC 400/412 swing actuator replacement: $780 – $1,120 (full actuator swap, including mounting hardware)
- FAAC control board replacement (E024U/S800H lines): $420 – $710 depending on board availability
- Full diagnostic visit (credited toward repair if you approve the work): $85 – $125
What moves the price: single-family swing gates average lower than long commercial slide runs; older FAAC series can require a retrofit bracket when an actuator is discontinued; and access to the operator housing (some are mounted on brick pillars) affects the install time. Call (725) 777-5391 and we’ll give you a fixed number for your exact job – the estimate is free, always.
Why Las Vegas Homeowners Call Portcullis Gate Repair Las Vegas for FAAC Work
Las Vegas is hard on equipment. The heat bakes circuit boards inside steel enclosures; dust storms work their way into every seal. We’ve run FAAC repair calls from Henderson to Aliante and we know what this climate does to an operator that was installed by someone who never thought about a 110-degree day. We show up when we say, the tech at your door is background-checked and in uniform, and the price is in writing before anything is disassembled. If the FAAC unit is beyond saving, we’ll tell you straight instead of diagnosing you into a bill you don’t need. And because we service nine major gate-operator brands – including LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, Ghost Controls, and DoorKing – if you ever change your system, we don’t disappear. We came up in this trade under Dean Prescott’s rule: diagnose the actual problem on the first visit, sell nothing the gate doesn’t need, and leave the job site cleaner than we found it. That’s the Kingswell Way, and every Portcullis location is independently owned and operated but held to the identical written standard.
FAQs
If your FAAC operator is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, you’ll need to check with the dealer or factory for parts coverage – as an independent FAAC service provider, we handle the repair labor and diagnosis but warranty parts come from the manufacturer. What we cover ourselves is our own repair work: every Portcullis repair carries a 365-day written guarantee, independent of what you get from FAAC. Call (725) 777-5391 and we’ll help you figure out whether the part falls under warranty before any work is ordered.
Most FAAC repairs are completed the same visit if the part is on the truck; boards and specific models sometimes require a next-day order. We run calls across the whole Las Vegas Valley with a live person answering 24/7, so when you call we can tell you the next real arrival window, not a phone tree promise. For a gate that’s stuck open on a busy road, we’ll move you up the schedule.
For boards, safety edges, and anything tied to the operator’s control logic, we recommend OEM – it’s the right call for warranty and long-term reliability. For wear parts like capacitors and drive gears, we can often offer a quality aftermarket option that performs as well as OEM at 30 – 40% less. The parts decision is always on the written quote before any work starts, so there’s no mystery about what goes into your gate.
Yes. We service nine major gate-operator brands – LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, Ghost Controls, DoorKing, BFT, Linear, Viking, and Elite – and we’re certified across all of them. If you have a mixed property with a FAAC swing gate in front and a LiftMaster in back, one visit covers both.
If the board is fried, the motor is gone, and the unit is over 12 – 15 years old, a repair can cost nearly as much as a new operator. We’ll give you the honest numbers side by side: repair price, replacement price, and how many more years each is likely to give you. No pressure. You choose what makes sense for your gate and your budget. Call (725) 777-5391 and we’ll quote both.
