FAAC keypad and intercom repair in Las Vegas typically runs $220 – $480 installed, depending on whether we’re replacing a single worn keypad, a failed intercom handset, or the full entry station. Most jobs we complete the same day because our trucks carry FAAC-compatible keypads, readers, and intercom modules stocked specifically for the models we see across Las Vegas neighborhoods. You’ll usually notice the failure the same way every time: you type your code and nothing happens, the gate opens on its own when the heat spikes, or the intercom buzzes but you can’t hear a word the delivery driver is saying.
We’re an independent service company, not affiliated with FAAC, which means we get to tell you the truth about which parts are worth buying in OEM and which aftermarket equivalents hold up just fine in the Mojave. Dean Prescott and the crew have replaced enough FAAC keypads in Sun City Summerlin and Green Valley to know exactly which boards bake first in August.
Which FAAC Models This Applies To
The keypads and intercoms we repair cover the full FAAC residential and light-commercial lineup: the older 412 and 415 operator families, the 400 and 402 swing-arm series, the 391 and S450H slide operators, and the newer E024U and B680H boards that drive them. If your keypad says Digitast, XKPR, XP30, or KP-04 anywhere on the back label, we stock a direct replacement. Intercom handsets from the FAAC 465D and 125 lines are also serviceable with parts we keep on the shelf, and when your audio module has gone quiet, we can usually match it by pulling the model sticker under the handset cradle.
One compatibility gotcha that catches a lot of Las Vegas homeowners: a FAAC XKPR keypad wired for a 24V DC board will not run on the older 12V AC transformer setups, even though the connectors look identical. We confirm the voltage before we quote any part because getting this wrong fries the new keypad in under a week. For OEM parts we order FAAC-stamped replacements when the board is still under warranty or when a community HOA requires exact-match hardware. Otherwise, we use proven aftermarket keypads from suppliers we’ve tested across Nevada summers, and most of them carry the same one-year warranty at twenty to thirty percent less.

Signs Your FAAC Keypad & Intercom Repair Is Failing
- Dead or intermittent keypad response. Pressing a number does nothing half the time, which usually means the membrane contacts inside the keypad have worn thin or dust has worked its way under the faceplate. It can also point to a loose ribbon cable where the keypad connects to the control board.
- Gate opens by itself or refuses to close. In Las Vegas, extreme heat causes the keypad’s internal resistors to drift out of spec, which fools the control board into reading phantom entries. We’ve seen this most on west-facing walls in Summerlin and Lone Mountain where the afternoon sun beats directly on the keypad housing.
- Intercom audio crackles, hums, or cuts out completely. Corrosion on the speaker and microphone terminals is the usual culprit, especially near properties with irrigation overspray hitting the intercom post. A failed capacitor on the audio board produces the same buzz.
- You hear the relay click but the gate doesn’t move. This means the keypad is fine and the problem is downstream in the operator or the loop detector, which is why we always test the whole circuit rather than just swapping the keypad.
- Certain codes work and others don’t. Older FAAC keypads store codes in non-volatile memory that can degrade over time, and when one slot corrupts, the keypad ignores those digits entirely. Reflashing or replacing the keypad fixes this.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Here’s what FAAC keypad and intercom repair costs in Las Vegas right now, parts and labor included:
- Single FAAC-compatible keypad replacement: $220 – $310. The part itself runs $95 – $150, and installation plus wiring cleanup covers the rest.
- Intercom handset or speaker module replacement: $240 – $360. Audio board repairs land at the lower end; a full handset swap with new cabling lands at the higher end.
- Complete entry station (keypad plus intercom) replacement: $380 – $480. This includes new weatherproof housing, both modules, and a full bench test of the gate operator.
Every Las Vegas quote includes the part, the labor, any weather sealing or wire repair the install requires, and the written Kingswell Guarantee on the work. That guarantee runs 365 days: if the keypad or intercom fails inside that year, we return and fix it at no charge under the 365-Day Done Right Promise. The price you approve before we start is the price on the invoice, and you’ll get both in writing.
DIY or Call Us?
There’s one thing a homeowner can safely do before calling, and that’s the obvious check: confirm the gate operator still runs from the manual open button or the remote. If the remote works but the keypad doesn’t, the keypad or its wiring is the problem and you’ve saved us a diagnostic step. If the remote also fails, call us anyway because the issue is downstream and we can test the whole chain.
What we don’t recommend is opening the keypad housing and probing the terminals yourself. FAAC keypads carry low voltage but the control boards they plug into sit inside boxes with line-voltage connections, and a slipped screwdriver across the wrong two terminals takes out a $150 control board faster than anything. The intercom audio module stores charge in its capacitors even after power is off, and we replace those boards regularly because a homeowner tried a DIY fix that zapped a larger component in the process. If you’ve already opened the box and stopped because the wiring doesn’t match what a forum told you it should look like, that’s the right time to call (725) 777-5391 and let us finish it.
FAQs
Plan on five to eight years from a quality FAAC keypad in the Las Vegas climate. Direct afternoon sun on an unshaded wall can shorten that to four, and that’s the main reason we apply UV-stable sealant around every new keypad we install. Call (725) 777-5391 and we’ll tell you whether your keypad is actually dead or just needs its contacts cleaned.
Yes, in two specific cases: when the failure is a loose or corroded wire at the terminal block, or when the keypad membrane is dirty and a contact cleaning restores function. Once the membrane contacts are worn through or the board is heat-drifted, replacement is the honest fix, and we’ll show you the failed part before we install the new one.
Most FAAC keypad replacements take under an hour, and a full intercom plus keypad entry station runs about two hours plus testing. We bench-test the new part on the gate before we button up the housing so we catch any wiring issue while we’re still on site.
We stock FAAC-compatible keypads, intercom modules, and the common wiring harnesses on our service trucks across Las Vegas, and we also keep parts for LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, and Ghost Controls systems. If your FAAC model needs a less common board, we can usually have it in hand within two business days and schedule your install right after it arrives.
