We stock and install Mighty Mule-compatible hinge and roller replacement parts across Las Vegas, and most swaps run $145 – $290 installed, parts and labor included. We keep the common hinge brackets, roller assemblies, and hardware on the truck, so in most cases we can replace a failed hinge or roller the same day we diagnose it. The way owners usually find us is simple: the gate starts dragging on the ground, it groans like a tired engine every time it opens, or the Mighty Mule operator is working fine but the gate itself won’t swing straight anymore. That’s a hinge or roller problem, not an operator problem, and it’s one of the most common fixes we make on Mighty Mule gates in the Las Vegas Valley.
Which Mighty Mule Models This Applies To
Mighty Mule has built gates under several series names over the years, and the hinge and roller hardware differs between them. The MM series (MM260, MM360, MM371, MM571, MM572) and the FM series (FM200, FM350, FM500, FM700) are the most common models we service in Las Vegas. The RB series (RB741, RB742) and newer MMS series use a heavier rail profile and typically have a different roller diameter. The hinge brackets on an MM360 are not interchangeable with an FM500 without re-drilling, even though they look close at a glance. If you still have the manual or can find the model tag on the operator arm, that settles the match. If the tag’s faded away or gone, we measure the gate’s frame tube width and the roller’s outside diameter on site. One Las Vegas-specific note: the dust and grit from the desert works its way into roller bearings faster than anything else, so if you replace rollers, use sealed bearing rollers, not the open-cage style. Open cages last about half as long out here.
On OEM versus aftermarket: Mighty Mule’s original hinge brackets are fine hardware, but they’re not special. A quality aftermarket bracket made from the same gauge steel, powder-coated, will carry the gate every bit as well and often saves $20 to $40 per bracket. We’ll tell you when aftermarket makes sense and when it doesn’t. We’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with Mighty Mule, so we’re free to recommend whatever part actually works best for your setup.

Signs Your Mighty Mule Hinge & Roller Replacement Is Failing
- The gate drags or scrapes along the bottom track or concrete. This almost always means the roller assembly has worn down or the hinge bracket has sagged, letting the gate drop lower than it should sit. The Mighty Mule operator then has to push harder just to get the gate moving.
- A grinding or metallic squeal when the gate opens. That’s the roller bearing either running dry or full of desert grit. By the time you hear it clearly, the bearing is usually already scored, and greasing it won’t bring it back.
- The gate won’t stay plumb, leaning visibly forward or backward. Hinge brackets can loosen at the post or stretch under the weight of the gate, especially on wide driveway gates that catch the afternoon wind we get across the Valley. The operator then fights a misaligned load on every cycle.
- The Mighty Mule operator runs fine but shuts off mid-cycle. The operator’s force settings are calibrated for a gate that swings fairly freely. When a roller binds, the operator reads the extra resistance as an obstruction and stops. The part that failed is mechanical, not the control board.
- The gate shudders or hops as it opens and closes. A flat spot on a roller wheel or a hinge pin that’s worn oval causes the gate to catch and release repeatedly. This one gets worse fast and after enough cycles, it can crack the hinge bracket itself.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Las Vegas, expect to pay $145 to $290 for a Mighty Mule hinge and roller replacement, parts and labor included. Where you land in that range depends on a few things. A single roller swap on a lighter MM360 gate is the low end. Replacing a pair of hinge brackets and both roller assemblies on a heavy FM700 or a custom steel gate is the high end. If the gate has sagged enough to stress the hinge posts, we may need to shim or re-set the post, which adds labor.
| Service | Typical Las Vegas Price Range |
|---|---|
| Single roller assembly replacement | $145 – $185 |
| Hinge bracket pair replacement (standard Mighty Mule) | $175 – $240 |
| Full hinge & roller replacement (heavy gate) | $240 – $290 |
| Post re-set / shim work (if required) | Quoted on site after inspection |
Every quote is written down before we touch a single bolt. That price covers the part, the labor, and the cleanup. And if the repair fails inside 365 days, we come back and fix it at no charge under the 365-Day Done Right Promise. That’s the Kingswell Guarantee, written on the invoice, not something we just say on the phone.
DIY or Call Us?
There are a couple of things worth checking yourself before you call. Look at the roller wheels where they ride the track, if the gate uses a ground track. You can spot a flat spot or a build-up of packed dirt. And check whether the hinge brackets are still tight against the post. But once the roller is shot or the bracket has shifted, this stops being a weekend job. These are loaded components. The gate’s full weight is on those hinges while it moves, and a hinge that gives way mid-swing can take the gate off its post entirely. That’s a serious injury risk and a much bigger repair bill. If the gate is dragging, grinding, or leaning, call us at (725) 777-5391. We’ll give you a real price in writing before we start.
FAQs
Most roller assemblies on Mighty Mule gates in Las Vegas last 4 to 7 years before the bearings start to go, and hinge brackets typically last 7 to 12 years depending on gate weight and how much wind the installation catches. Desert dust shortens roller life significantly here, which is why we recommend sealed bearing rollers on every Las Vegas replacement. Give us a call at (725) 777-5391 if your rollers are nearing that age and starting to make noise.
In most cases the hinge bracket itself needs to be replaced rather than repaired. Once the metal has stretched or the pin bore has wallowed out, welding or shimming will only buy you a few months at best. A fresh bracket is the cheaper long-term fix. We’ll show you the wear before we quote the swap.
Most Mighty Mule hinge and roller replacements take 90 minutes to 3 hours from the time our technician pulls up. If we need to re-set a post or address any alignment issues around the operator, it can run longer. You’ll get a time window before we arrive, and the job won’t start until you have the written price in hand.
We keep the most common Mighty Mule hinge brackets, roller assemblies, and mounting hardware stocked on the truck, along with parts for LiftMaster, Ghost Controls, and DoorKing systems. In roughly 8 out of 10 Las Vegas calls, we finish the replacement in a single visit. Call (725) 777-5391 and tell Dean what the gate is doing, or not doing, and he’ll give you a real number before we touch a single bolt.
