AfterHow Much Does Gate Access Control Cost in Las Vegas?
Gate access control installation in Las Vegas typically costs between $1,800 and $6,500 for a complete residential system in 2026, with most single-family homes in Summerlin and Henderson landing between $2,400 and $4,200. A basic keypad-and-intercom setup for a swing gate runs closer to $1,800 to $2,800, while a full system with video intercom, smartphone app control, and vehicle detection sensors runs $4,000 to $6,500. If you’re retrofitting an existing gate that already has an operator, adding access control alone usually falls between $900 and $2,200.
Those are real ranges we quote in Las Vegas every week. Your price depends on the gate operator you already have, whether we’re pulling new wire or using wireless hardware, and how many entry methods you want. Keep reading for a full line-item breakdown and the factors that move the number.
Gate Access Control Cost Breakdown (2026)
Here’s what we’re actually quoting in Las Vegas this year, broken down by component. These are parts and labor together, based on jobs our technicians have completed across the valley from Centennial Hills to Green Valley Ranch.
| Component | Typical Las Vegas Range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Keypad entry system (standalone) | $450 – $1,100 | Includes mounting, weatherproofing, and programming. Wireless keypads land on the lower end. |
| Telephone entry system / intercom | $900 – $2,400 | Hardwired intercom with directory for multi-home or HOA entry. Cellular-capable units cost more. |
| Video intercom with smartphone app | $1,400 – $3,200 | Lets you see and talk to visitors from your phone. Requires Wi-Fi or cellular at the gate. |
| Vehicle detection loop (ground sensor) | $600 – $1,400 | Cut into the driveway asphalt or concrete so the gate opens automatically for exiting cars. |
| Photoelectric sensors / safety beams | $300 – $700 | Required by code on most automatic gates. Prevents the gate from closing on a vehicle or person. |
| Gate operator (swing or slide) | $1,200 – $3,800 | LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, and DoorKing operators are common in Las Vegas. The operator is the motor unit that physically moves the gate. |
| Full access control retrofit (existing operator) | $900 – $2,200 | Adding keypad, intercom, or app control to a gate that already has a working operator. |
| Complete new system (operator + access control) | $2,800 – $6,500 | New operator, keypad, safety sensors, and intercom or app control, installed and programmed. |
| HOA / community gate system | $4,500 – $15,000+ | Multi-resident systems with directory, cellular calling, and often remote management. Pricing scales with the number of units. |
What pushes a job toward the top of those ranges? Conduit runs. In Las Vegas, most homes have block wall or stucco construction, and pulling wire through a finished wall is more labor than a fresh conduit run along the gate rail. If your gate sits 80 feet from the house and there’s no existing low-voltage wire, expect the labor portion to climb. Wireless and cellular systems can cut that cost significantly, which is why we often recommend them for existing gates that weren’t pre-wired.
What pushes it down? A gate that already has a working operator. If the motor is fine and you only need a keypad and intercom, you’re looking at the lower end of the retrofit range. We’ll never sell you a new operator if yours still has life in it.
Every Portcullis Gate Repair Las Vegas quote includes the written price before work starts. No disassembly, no surprise add-ons, just a number on paper you can hold us to.
What Affects Gate Access Control Pricing in Las Vegas
Six things move the quote more than anything else. None of them are mysterious, and we’ll walk you through each one before you sign anything.
- The gate operator brand you already have. We service nine major brands: LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, Linear, Viking, Ghost Controls, DoorKing, Elite, and Mighty Mule. Some operators have open accessory ports that accept third-party keypads and receivers; others require the manufacturer’s proprietary access control hardware. Brand compatibility can shift parts cost by $200 to $600.
- Wired versus wireless. Running low-voltage wire across a Las Vegas driveway means cutting into hardscape or boring under it. That’s labor. Wireless keypads and cellular intercoms skip the trenching entirely, which is why they’re popular in neighborhoods like Summerlin North where driveways are long and finished concrete is expensive to cut.
- Entry methods. A single keypad is the cheapest option. Add a phone-based intercom, then a video camera, then a smartphone app, and the price climbs with each layer. Most Las Vegas homeowners want at least two methods: keypad for the family, intercom for visitors.
- Gate type: swing versus slide. Slide gates generally cost more to add access control to because the operator and sensor wiring sit along a longer run of track. Swing gates have everything concentrated at the hinge post, which keeps wiring short and straightforward.
- Concrete and asphalt work. Vehicle detection loops require cutting a loop shape into the driveway surface, laying wire, and sealing it. Asphalt is cheaper to cut than stamped or stained concrete. If your driveway is decorative, we’ll recommend a photoelectric sensor pair instead, which costs less and doesn’t scar the surface.
- HOA requirements. Las Vegas HOAs, especially in master-planned communities like Summerlin, Green Valley, and Mountain’s Edge, often have design review rules for gate hardware. Some require specific intercom brands or cellular directory systems. We’ve worked with dozens of Las Vegas HOAs and can tell you before quoting whether your community’s requirements will affect the price.
One more thing worth naming: the age of your gate structure. If the gate itself is sagging or the posts have shifted in our expansive clay soil, access control hardware can’t compensate for a gate that won’t close square. We’ll flag that during the estimate and quote the mechanical fix separately if needed.
How to Save on Gate Access Control
Most savings come from making two or three decisions early. Here’s what actually reduces the price on Las Vegas jobs.
- Use wireless where it works. If your gate is more than 40 feet from the nearest power or data point, wireless keypads and a cellular intercom can cut $500 to $1,200 off a job by eliminating trenching and conduit runs. Wireless isn’t right for every property, but on long Las Vegas driveways it’s often the smartest money saved.
- Add access control to an existing operator. If your LiftMaster or FAAC operator is less than eight to ten years old and still running smoothly, a retrofit makes more sense than a full replacement. You’ll pay $900 to $2,200 instead of $2,800 to $6,500.
- Choose a keypad now, add video later. Most access control systems are modular. If budget is tight, a quality keypad and safety sensors get the gate working today. A video intercom can usually be added to the same system a year later without replacing everything.
- Get a written estimate before committing. A real written quote tells you exactly what’s included. You compare apples to apples. Our estimates are free, and the price we write down is the price you pay. Call (725) 777-5391 and we’ll schedule a visit.
- Ask about the guarantee before you pay. Some companies charge less up front and then charge again when the repair fails in three months. Under our 365-Day Done Right Promise, if the access control repair fails within a year, we return and fix it at no charge. That guarantee is written on every invoice. It saves money over time because you’re not paying for the same repair twice.

How Gate Access Control Installation Works (Step-by-Step)
This is the process we follow on every residential access control job in Las Vegas. It’s the same whether the gate is on a half-acre lot in The Ridges or a courtyard entry in Aliante.
- Site visit and written estimate. A uniformed, background-checked technician comes to the property, measures the gate, checks the existing operator, and maps out the wiring route. You receive a written price before any work is approved.
- Equipment selection. We recommend hardware based on your gate type, operator brand, and entry preferences. You know the exact model numbers and cost of every component before installation begins.
- Wiring and mounting. The technician installs the keypad, intercom, or video unit, pulls new low-voltage wire if needed, and mounts the control board inside a weatherproof enclosure rated for Las Vegas heat and dust.
- Safety sensor installation. Photoelectric sensors and vehicle detection loops go in per manufacturer spec and Clark County code. These are not optional on automatic gates. They’re what keep the gate from closing on a car, a child, or a pet.
- Programming and testing. Every access code, phone number, and app connection is programmed and tested. You’ll walk through the system with the technician before he leaves. If something doesn’t work to your satisfaction, it gets fixed before we leave the driveway.
- Written guarantee. You receive the Kingswell Guarantee in writing on your invoice: 365 days of coverage on the repair. If the access control fails within that period, we return and correct it at no charge.
That last step is The Kingswell Way: say the price before the work, show up in the window we gave, leave the place cleaner than we found it, put the guarantee in writing, and come back if it fails. Five commitments, written down, on every job. Portcullis Gate Repair is an independently owned Kingswell company, held to the same guarantees as every Kingswell location. Since 2008, Dean Prescott has led our Las Vegas team by that standard. No exceptions.
Common Gate Access Control Problems and What They Cost to Fix
Access control systems fail in predictable ways. Here’s what we see across Las Vegas and what you’ll typically pay to fix it.
Keypad not responding
Most often it’s a failed keypad membrane from sun exposure. Las Vegas summers with weeks above 105°F bake outdoor keypads until the buttons stop registering. Replacement keypad: $450 to $900 installed, depending on whether it’s wired or wireless. If the wiring itself is the issue, expect $150 to $350 for a wiring repair.
Intercom works but gate won’t open
This usually points to a relay failure on the control board or a broken connection between the intercom and the operator. Relay replacement or board repair runs $250 to $700. If the operator itself has failed, see below.
Gate operator motor burned out
Operators in Las Vegas die from heat and dust accumulation. The actuator, the motorized arm that physically pushes the gate open, has a finite lifespan, usually 7 to 12 years in our climate. Actuator replacement on a swing gate runs $500 to $1,200. Full operator replacement runs $1,200 to $3,800 installed.
Vehicle detection loop not opening the gate
Loops fail when the wire in your driveway breaks, often from asphalt shifting during our freeze-thaw cycles in February and March. Loop replacement: $600 to $1,400 including saw cutting and sealing. If a photoelectric sensor will do the job instead, you’ll pay $300 to $700.
Storm or power surge damage
Monsoon season hits Las Vegas hard between July and September. Lightning strikes and power surges have knocked out more control boards than any other single cause in our service history. Control board replacement runs $450 to $1,100. A surge protector for your gate opener is a $150 to $300 add-on we recommend on nearly every Las Vegas installation.
If your access control system is acting up, call us before you replace it. A $250 relay fix beats a $2,500 operator replacement every time. Our Gate Access Control in Las Vegas page covers troubleshooting in more detail.
FAQs – Gate Access Control Cost
How much does a gate keypad cost in Las Vegas?
A gate keypad in Las Vegas costs $450 to $1,100 installed, with wireless keypads on the lower end and hardwired, weather-sealed units on the higher end. Most single-family homes in Summerlin and Henderson pay between $500 and $800 for a quality keypad with programming included. Call (725) 777-5391 for an exact quote on your gate.
Is it cheaper to repair or replace gate access control?
Repair is almost always cheaper. A relay or keypad replacement runs $250 to $900, while a full system replacement runs $2,800 to $6,500. We’ll only recommend replacement when the existing hardware is beyond reliable repair or the operator is at the end of its service life. Get a written estimate and decide with the numbers in front of you.
How much does a phone intercom for a gate cost?
A telephone entry intercom for a Las Vegas gate costs $900 to $2,400 installed. Cellular-capable units that call your cell phone instead of a landline sit at the top of that range. Video intercoms with smartphone app access run $1,400 to $3,200.
Can you install gate access control the same day?
In most cases, yes. If your gate operator is functioning and we’re adding a wireless keypad or replacing an existing intercom, same-day installation is common. If new wiring is required or you need a full operator swap, we typically schedule the installation within a few days. Our live answering team can confirm availability when you call (725) 777-5391.
Does gate access control work during a Las Vegas power outage?
Standard gate operators rely on your home’s power, and most have battery backup options. We recommend adding battery backup on any Las Vegas system, especially during monsoon season when outages are common. Battery backup systems add $250 to $600 to the installation. Without it, a power outage means manually disengaging the operator to open the gate by hand.
How long does gate access control installation take?
A standard retrofit with a keypad and intercom takes 3 to 5 hours. A complete new operator with access control and vehicle detection loops takes 6 to 10 hours over one day, sometimes two for longer slide gates or complex HOA systems. We’ll give you a specific time window before the work starts, not after.
Why Las Vegas Homeowners Choose Portcullis Gate Repair
We started serving Las Vegas as a Kingswell company in 2008, and we’ve spent the years since building a reputation on the things that actually matter when a gate fails: someone who answers when you call, a price that doesn’t change when the technician arrives, and a repair that holds up through triple-digit summers and monsoon downpours. Dean Prescott leads the team with a simple standard: if it’s not done right, we make it right.
Every Portcullis technician is background-checked and uniformed. You’ll know who’s arriving and what they look like before the truck hits your driveway. Calls are answered by a live person 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. And every repair carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing: if the access control repair fails within 365 days, we return and fix it at no charge. Not a pro-rated charge. Not a service fee. Zero.
We carry service experience across nine gate-operator brands: LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, Linear, Viking, Ghost Controls, DoorKing, Elite, and Mighty Mule. The technician arriving at your gate will already know your system. That means the quote is accurate, the parts are right, and the job doesn’t stretch into a second visit because something was misdiagnosed.
